43 Key Accountabilities Performing all types of work associated with the troubleshooting, operating, maintenance, calibration, adjusting and installation of all plant instruments and controls, both mechanical and electrical as qualified.
Adjusting, repairing, calibrating and Installing automatic control equipment involving a thorough knowledge of production plant and the relationship and function of control and measuring equipment such as fuel controls, fuel safety systems, etc.
Adjusting, repairing and calibrating instrumentation, such as thermometer, thermocouples, flowmeters, pressure gauges, recorders, date loggers, etc.
Having a thorough knowledge of basic principles of A.

electricity and applying knowledge by working from electrical diagrams and sketches in the testing, repair and troubleshooting of controls.
Using such types of testers as ohmmeters, voltmeter, ampmeter, dead weight tester, orsat, oscilloscope, etc.
Prepare instrumentation and controls.
Instructing and training other control personnel on the job.
Performing the construction and installation of special types of instrumentation and controls.
May work on or near energized circuits or equipment.
Installing small piping and tubing.
Collecting and preparing fuel samples for test and making of these samples.
Making fuel surveys as required.
Conducting, computing and plotting routine tests, such as fans, pumps velocity, oxygen, capacity, assisting in special tests and preparing daily performance sheets as required.
Perform all phases of Chemical Analysis.
Collect samples, analyze and apply proper treatment to boiler water, condensate, feedwater and auxiliary plant systems.
Be familiar with sampling procedures required for compliance with state and federal permit limitations (SPDES-NPDES).
Preparing sketches, charts and graphs.
Read, interpret plans, drawing sand specifications for above work.
Performing similar or less skilled work as may be assigned.
Qualifications Perform arithmetic or algebraic and geometric procedures in standard, practical applications.
Applicants must be High School Graduates or equivalent.
Applicants will be required to successfully complete a control technician screening examination.
Applicants must satisfactorily complete all the educational requirements to the Control Technician Training Program.
To be eligible for progression increases, applicants must demonstrate satisfactory performance; complete all on-the-job training and related study courses.
Applicants must possess a valid NY State Driver's License and be capable of passing a Company driving test.
NOTE:
In addition to possessing the qualifications for this vacancy, employees selected will be expected to work overtime in accordance with departmental requirements and to participate in the Company's Emergency Restoration Program as may be required.
